Director of Development
Captivated by music at age four, Lisa Bury continues to pursue her love of the performing arts as Seattle Opera’s Director of Development. She leads all of the company’s contributed revenue activity including a $60 million capital campaign, $10 million annual fund, planned giving program, and endowment building efforts. She began her career as a marketing intern at Lyric Opera of Chicago, and continued there to nurture donor relationships as Assistant Director - Donor Services and Special Events, manage board peer to peer solicitations, and special events and projects as Director of Women’s Board Activities, and, as Director of Corporate, Foundation, and Government Support, oversee all institutional giving efforts. Lisa has led the fundraising teams at Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, Arizona Opera, and Florida Grand Opera. Her volunteer activities include participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Out of Darkness Walks and serving on the boards of the Association of California Symphony Orchestras (ACSO) and Advancement Northwest chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She has presented at the conferences of OPERA America, League of American Orchestras, ACSO, Northwest Development Officers Association, and AFP Advancement Northwest.
