Praised for her “astounding vocal expressivity” and “soaring full voice”, American soprano Christina Pecce is a singing-actress who crosses over the genres of opera, musical theatre, jazz, and performance art. She currently serves as a Hattie Mae Lesley Apprentice Artist for the Fort Worth Opera's 2016-2017 season and will be performing the roles of Frasquita in Carmen and Mother's Ghost in the world premiere of Voir Dire by composer Matthew Peterson.

As a former member of the Boston Opera Collaborative, Ms. Pecce played the roles of Anne in Heggie's To Hell and Back and Armida in Rinaldo. She also served as the company's Concert & Outreach Coordinator from 2014-2016.

Additionally in the Boston area, Christina has performed the role of Vivienne in Legally Blonde with The Company Theatre, Dottie in Show Boat with Fiddlehead Theatre, Mrs. Segstrom in A Little Night Music with NextDoor Theater, and the title role in Mary Poppins with The Company Theatre. She is a proud member of the Actor's Equity Association.

In 2015, she took part in the U.S. premiere of Lee Mingwei’s Sonic Blossom, a performance art piece featured at The Museum of Fine Arts, was awarded 3rd place at the Philharmonic Society of Arlington’s Young Artist Competition, was a finalist in The Classical Singer Competition (Music Theatre Division) in Chicago, and was an international semifinalist for The Lotte Lenya Competition.

As a young artist at Seagle Music Colony in the Adirondacks of New York, Christina has performed the roles of Anita in West Side Story, Mrs. Hayes in Susannah, Phyllis Dale in 42nd Street, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin, and First nursemaid in Street Scene. This summer she returned to sing the role of Veronica in the premiere workshop of Evan Mack’s Roscoe.

Ms. Pecce has also performed the roles of Anne Sexton in Conrad Susa’s chamber opera Transformations where she “gave perhaps the most polished and engaged performance of the evening,” Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, as well as Concepción in Ravel’s L’heure espagnole where “vocally she was the star of the show” in productions at The Boston Conservatory. As an enthusiast for new music, Christina has premiered and performed chamber works by American composers Keith Kusterer, Mischa Salkind-Pearl, Amber Vistein, Diana Rodriguez, Marc Hoffeditz, and Clifton Ingram. She has also been featured with The Fifth Floor Collective, performing John Cage’s Aria.

A native of Boston, Christina Pecce completed her Master’s Degree in Opera Performance as a scholarship student at The Boston Conservatory, studying voice with Dr. Rebecca Folsom. Ms. Pecce received her B.S. in Music Education from Hofstra University in New York where she graduated as a Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society member. She was also awarded two honors recitals and was a finalist in The American Prize in Vocal Performance during her time at Hofstra. Additionally, Ms. Pecce has performed the roles of Poppea in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea and Rosalinda in Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermauswith Hofstra Opera Theatre. She also attended New York Opera Studio under the artistic direction of Nico and Carol Castel where she performed the partial role of Lakmé in Delibes’s opera of the same name.

In addition to performing, Ms. Pecce has taught private voice and beginning piano lessons at The Bosse School of Music on the South Shore. Recent educational credits also include a placement at Codman Academy in Dorchester provided by the Be The Music Program founded by The Bub’s Foundation of Boston.  Through this program she has introduced contemporary a cappella music to students lacking the resources to participate in music programs of their own.
