Eric Bornemann is the Director of Marketing at LA Opera, the nation’s fourth largest opera company, where he oversees the sales and advertising for main stage and Off-Grand productions, with a particular focus on cultivating new and evolving audiences. Prior to moving to Los Angeles in 2015, he was the Group Account Supervisor at Situation Interactive, one of New York City’s leading marketing and advertising agencies for live entertainment and the performing arts. At Situation, Eric directed marketing and advertising campaigns and oversaw teams responsible for implementing innovative strategies to serve non-profit organizations, including The Metropolitan Opera, Roundabout Theater Company, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), National Theatre London, The Guggenheim Museum, American Ballet Theater, and The Apollo Theater, among others, as well as over 30 major Broadway productions, including The Lion King, Cinderella, Mary Poppins, Mamma Mia, On Your Feet, Cabaret, and American Idiot.  Eric has additional experience with The Araca Group, Spotco, Columbia University, and MCC Theater and taught the Master’s level Technology for the Performing Arts class at CUNY-Brooklyn College.  He is a native of Saratoga Springs, NY, and holds an MFA from CUNY-Brooklyn College and a BA from Sarah Lawrence College.
